I've been creating handmade
cards and gifts for friends and family for over 25 years and have
developed a passion for gorgeous handmade paper products. After
graduating in Constructed Textile Design in 1996, I worked in
the textile industry for 3 years, as an accessories designer,
and then as a design consultant and in greetings card publishing.
In 1997 I was delighted
to be asked to create the stationery for a friend's wedding. After
receiving an overwhelming positive response from the couple and
guests, I was approached to create a further commissions and eventually
decided to establish 'Druett Designs', starting with a card stall
in the famous Camden Lock Market in London.
Since then I have had
the privilege to work on with over 500 happy couples, creating
their dream wedding stationery. This subsequently progressed onto
social stationery for private parties, personalised Christmas
cards, and even funeral and memorials cards.
I am also very proud
to have recently created a very special range of baby stationery
in association with 'Bliss' the National premature baby charity,
which we then donate to.
My award winning handmade
greetings cards range was created with the help of a small dedicated
team in London. We made 160 designs which sold in stores across
the UK including Paperchase, John Lewis, Cards Galore Harrods
& Liberty's. In the USA we distributed to Papyrus, Virgin
Mega Stores and Bloomingdales amongst others.
I now concentrate on
bespoke design work and was proud to be selected in 2001 to be
the creator of the 'Future Forests' Carbon Neutral range of certificates
and greetings cards. This includes those made to promote 'The
Brit Awards' and the Hollywood film 'Day after Tomorrow'. I continue
to work with 'The Carbon Neutral Company', creating their distinctive
handmade motifs used for their gift range.
